Established back in 1988 as a niche P&I specialist employing a handful people, the DUPI Insurance Group (“DIG”) 26 years later employs about 90 professionals in 4 offices / 3 countries. Bas Ouwens and Martijn Steenkamp, who took joined responsibility already more than twenty years ago, today still are at the helm of the Group’s holding company. They brought the P&I company from her pioneer stage in the early nineties to the hybrid wide scale position she currently holds in the international P&I industry. We pride ourselves to be globally amongst the largest P&I correspondents and independent P&I broking houses.
Since 2010 we have extended our activities to include marine underwriting under the name of Dutch Marine Insurance (“DMI”) next to the well established P&I specialism as brokers, claims handlers and correspondents (known as “DUPI”).
After a challenging 3 year start-up period DMI now shifts to the stage of acquiring a stable place amongst the established international specialist marine underwriters. In coming years we aim to firmly establish ourselves as broad range center of excellence in all fields of marine insurance.
To guarantee continuity and continued development, DIG recently contracted Anton Cornel to strengthen her management board. He brings a wide experience and network to the DIG table after 25 years working for the leading international marine brokers and insurers.
Together with a strong and inspiring team of colleagues in all our offices, backed by our long standing shareholders and supported by our strong Supervisory Board, we are keen to bring the Group to further growth and ready for all future challenges.
